I get asked the same question a lot. “How do you come up with all your ideas.” I usually proceed to tell them that I get ideas everywhere and anywhere. Next, I usually show them is a large filing cabinet in my office. The top large drawer is filled with brochures, mailers, postcards, magazines, advertisement, and a lot of other junk. At least others may think of it as junk, but I view it as an invaluable resource. My wife sometimes laughs at me, because everywhere we go I am picking up new brochures and stopping to examine everything around me. However, the filing cabinet lately has been getting less and less usage, because I go online many times now for inspiration.
Here are a few of the sites I go to if I need some inspiration. I do not control, nor can I vouch for everything on these sites. I have found them helpful and clean, and I hope they will be a help to you as well.

Hey Michael, just found your blog today and have enjoyed perusing your posts. I am the media director at a church in Vancouver BC and I am always looking for new ideas. The question I had for you today is about your blog template, did you build it yourself, or did you get the template somewhere, i am looking to redesign some of the blogs we have and am looking for ideas. Thanks
Paul, I’m glad you found the site today. I got the template from themeforest.net. It’s a really well thought out theme.
Great, thanks for the info. I will look into it.

I have enjoyed looking through the site and getting many more tools to help our church present the Gospel in an even greater way in our graphics. I posted a link to your site on my twitter account.
Keep plugging away and I look forward to seeing even more helpful content from you in the future.
Pastor Giesen, I’m glad to hear the posts have been a help to you and your ministry. Thank you for telling others about mediaministryblog.com!
Bro. Moyer your blog is a blessing and I refer to it often. I was wondering if maybe in the future you could do a post on “building a media team”. I attend a fairly large church and am helping bring our media out of the stone age lol. There is lots of talent available but nothing structured. Any thoughts you may have would be greatly appreciated. thanks so much for your time.

Matt, Thanks for the encouraging comment and the great idea for a blog post. I’ll have to give that idea some thought. I’m glad to hear that this blog has been a blessing!
